Jon
D. Holdaway in an associate with the firm. He practice is
in the areas of business litigation, insurance and commercial
disputes. Mr. Holdaway also has experience in criminal defense
and government contract matters.
In addition to his private practice experience, Mr. Holdaway
served for seven years as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate. During
that time, he was assigned to various duties where he practiced
in a wide variety of areas, including regulatory law, international
law, operational law and targeting, and contract/fiscal
law. He also served as a supervising attorney, as well as
criminal defense counsel, with the U.S. Army Trial Defense
Service.
Mr. Holdaway spent his final three years in the military
as the senior
legal advisor, as well as intelligence oversight officer,
to the U.S.
Army's primary military intelligence organization in
Europe. In that
capacity, he advised senior Army officers on national
security and
intelligence collection laws and policies in areas such
as detainee
interrogations, counter-terrorism, signals intelligence
activities, and
information operations and analysis. He was at the forefront
of the
Army's efforts to respond to the Abu Ghraib scandal,
and his work is
used today to train interrogators and their supervisors
on the
appropriate legal limits of interrogation operations.
